ASSE pledges to work with its extensive network of members and stakeholders to help address fatal occupational injuries that increased for the third straight year according to newly released data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. There were 5,190 workplace fatalities in 2016, up 7 percent from 2015.

ASSE is working with executive search firm Korn Ferry to hire its next executive director. Dennis Hudson, ASSE's current executive director, is set to retire in April after two years in that position and 10 years at the Society overall. His replacement will become the eighth executive director since ASSE was founded in 1911.
