Guidelines for Mentors and Mentees

• You must be a member of ASSP and the Consultants Practice Specialty to participate in this program. The focus of our mentorship program is on business development. If you are not in the process of starting a consulting business or working as a consultant in some fashion, we recommend looking into another mentoring program within the ASSP communities.
• We hold all information exchanged between matched pairs for mentoring in strict confidence; applications are viewed only by the matching committee.
• Mentors and mentees should commit to at least one hour per month for meeting by Zoom, Teams or other virtual platform; phone; e-mail; or in person.
• Each mentoring pair will develop an individual development plan(IDP) to guide the process and build success. The mentee is expected to initiate the IDP and drive the mentoring process.
• Mentors and Mentees are matched for a preliminary six-month period with an option to extend for another six months if both parties agree.
• Mentors are not expected to provide employment or business opportunities for mentees — just life lessons, business advice, coaching and mentoring.
