ASSP Member Selected by President Biden for OSHA Leadership Position

SU_Capitol_at_Dusk_2President Joe Biden has appointed ASSP member Jim Frederick as OSHA’s acting administrator and deputy assistant secretary of labor for OSH. The leaders of American Industrial Hygiene Association, National Safety Council and ASSP signed a joint letter expressing their strong support for Frederick's nomination and appointment.

Frederick has 3 decades of experience providing OSH leadership to North American labor unions as an advocate and a resource to workers, their employers and regulatory agencies. He spent 25 years in the Health, Safety and Environment Department of the United Steelworkers Union, serving as assistant director and principal investigator until 2019, providing technical guidance on OSH and working closely with the organization’s management counterparts and organizations around the world on projects to improve workplace safety and health.

Frederick is a member of ASSP’s Western Pennsylvania Chapter.
