ASSP’s San Diego Chapter utilized the talent of its members on the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. Chapter members volunteered in the San Diego community to install free smoke alarms in at-risk communities as part of the Red Cross Sound-the-Alarm program. During the event, chapter volunteers installed 282 smoke alarms to make 126 homes safer at a mobile home association in Santee, CA. With some members fluent in Spanish, the chapter also was able to provide bilingual support to non-English speaking residents.
Community outreach by ASSP chapters helps communicate the importance of safety in all aspects of our lives. How is your chapter getting involved? Send us an e-mail about your chapter's work.
