Revisions to ISO 31000, Risk Management – Principles and Guidelines
Published in 2009, the ISO 31000 standard, Risk Management – Principles and Guidelines, was developed to provide organizations with principles, a framework and process for establishing a risk management program. Now updated, ISO 31000-2018 reflects the evolution of risk management over the past decade from a separate, often compartmentalized activity to an integrated management competency.
ASSP also published a new book by Bruce K. Lyon and Georgi Popov, Risk Management Tools for Safety Professionals. The authors helped revise ISO 31000 and the ANSI/ASSP Z590.3 Prevention Through Design standard. Their new book provides practical guidance on selecting and applying fundamental risk management tools and prevention through design concepts.
