  • Salary survey pinpoints value of certifications for safety and health professionals

    May 24, 2018
    ASSE and BCSP conducted a 33-question salary survey in March of nearly 10,000 safety, health and environmental professionals based primarily in the United States and Canada, identifying the typical salary, benefits, credentials and experience of these individuals. The median base salary for full-time professionals was $97,000.
  • ASSE Foundation helps two more students overcome family tragedy

    May 24, 2018
    Through its Family Scholarship Fund, the ASSE Foundation awarded $10,000 scholarships to Lindsey Pinkerton of Nebraska and Samantha Wooten of New Hampshire. The fund provides educational scholarships to spouses and children to help reduce the financial impact of a loved one not returning home from work.​
  • New workplace safety books available at Safety 2018 in San Antonio

    May 24, 2018
    Two new occupational safety and health books debut at Safety 2018. Available for purchase will be "Safety Leadership and Professional Development," edited by Richard Olawoyin and Darryl C. Hill, and "Fred Manuele on Safety Management," written by Fred Manuele and edited by Professional Safety’s Tina Angley.​
  • Workshop focuses on high fatality rates of Hispanic and Latino workers

    May 21, 2018
    Hispanic and Latino workers suffer higher fatality rates than other U.S. workers, leading ASSE to launch a collaborative effort to seek solutions. A Hispanic/Latino Worker Safety Workshop brought together a diverse cross-section of more than 50 influencers who identified priorities for reducing the worker safety and health disparity.
  • ASSE forming accreditation institute to recognize quality safety programs

    May 02, 2018
    ASSE is creating an independent accreditation institute that will debut this summer, further driving the evolution of workplace safety and health worldwide. The fee-based program will certify an applying organization’s occupational safety and health products and services based on recognized voluntary consensus standards.
