PARK RIDGE, IL — Occupational safety and health professionals planning to attend the next SafetyFOCUS education event from the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) must register soon to secure the best rate. The fall session’s discounted early rate expires after Aug. 29.
The SafetyFOCUS in-depth education experience covers a broad range of topics and helps safety professionals expand their knowledge through collaborative learning to keep workers safe in all industries. The event will take place Oct. 21-25 online only.
Using case studies, real-life examples and proven successes, expert instructors will explore key issues and provide new perspectives and strategies to help solve workplace safety and health challenges. Held twice each year, SafetyFOCUS is ASSP’s second-largest education event. Unlike a traditional conference, SafetyFOCUS offers a chance to dive deep into critical safety topics.
“Attendees will receive all the benefits of face-to-face instruction without the time and expenses related to travel,” said ASSP President Pam Walaski, CSP, FASSP. “If you have a computer with a camera, audio and internet access, you’re ready to learn and earn CEUs.”
The one-, two- and three-day courses focus on business and leadership skills, certification preparation, risk assessment and management and safety management systems. Many address voluntary national consensus standards that incorporate best practices. Attendees build their own schedule to fit their unique professional development plan, whether they are new to the safety industry or a seasoned professional.
SafetyFOCUS will be accessible through ASSP’s Live Virtual Classroom via Zoom. Instructors will facilitate courses daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT.
Attendees who register for a full week of training can earn 3.5 continuing education units (CEUs) that will help them maintain a range of professional certifications. Participants will also expand their professional networks and take away relevant information and practical guidance they can immediately implement to help their organizations prevent worker injuries, illnesses and fatalities while improving overall worker well-being.
Safety and health professionals can register online to get the best available rate. Groups of five or more from the same company can save by contacting ASSP customer service at customerservice@assp.org. ASSP members save on registration and get discounts on all of the Society’s education, training and workplace safety standards.
First-time attendees who have never been ASSP members will receive a free one-year membership and complimentary practice specialty and common interest group memberships with a minimum spend during the event.
