Registration Opens for SafetyFOCUS 2022

Nov 11, 2021

PARK RIDGE, IL — The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) opened registration today for SafetyFOCUS 2022 in its new location in Phoenix. The 10-day immersive education experience will take place Feb. 21 to March 4 and will feature online and in-person components for the first time.

SafetyFOCUS is ASSP’s second-largest annual event, offering more than 65 occupational safety and health courses in full- and half-day formats on a broad range of topics presented by world-class experts. The areas of focus include business and leadership skills, certification preparation, fall protection, risk assessment and management, and safety management systems.

“We continue our steadfast support of workplace safety and health professionals who are helping businesses protect workers, especially during the pandemic,” said ASSP President Brad Giles, P.E., CSP, STS, FASSP, GIOSH. “SafetyFOCUS offers the opportunity to take a deep dive into key topics with safety industry leaders.”

During the first week of SafetyFOCUS (Feb. 21-25), courses will be presented in person at the Training to You facility and online in ASSP’s Live Virtual Classroom, which simply requires a computer with a camera, audio and internet access. Instructors will facilitate courses daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MT.

SafetyFOCUS courses presented the second week (Feb. 28 to March 4) will only be online in the Live Virtual Classroom. Instructors will facilitate courses daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT. The half-day courses that week will run from 8 a.m. to noon CT.

“SafetyFOCUS will help you manage your job’s daily responsibilities and gain expertise to show your value,” Giles said. “Safety professionals never stop learning, and that’s what makes us vital in all industries worldwide.”

Attendees can earn up to 7 continuing education units (CEUs) to maintain a range of professional certifications while expanding their networks and absorbing relevant information and practical guidance they can immediately implement to help their organizations prevent worker injuries, illnesses and fatalities.

On-site safety and health protocols require attendees to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and wear a face covering when in the training facility. ASSP will announce the vaccine verification process as details become available. An attendee is considered fully vaccinated when their final dose is received at least two weeks before the start date of their course. In addition, ASSP will promote healthy habits at the training facility such as consistent handwashing and the use of hand sanitizer.

Safety and health professionals should register online for SafetyFOCUS 2022. Groups from the same company can save on the entire event by contacting ASSP group coordinator Nancy O’Toole at 847.768.3466 or notoole@assp.org.
