CEO Jennifer McNelly, CAE, of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) spoke June 14 in Washington, D.C., at the “Safety as a Core Workplace Value National Listening Session” held by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The meeting provided a forum for OSHA to collect expert insights to identify needs, challenges and best safety practices.
“Safety as a core value is a catalyst for achieving long-term business success, sustainable growth and a competitive edge in the marketplace,” McNelly said. “Implementing robust safety management systems enables businesses to reap many benefits, creating a positive feedback loop where improved safety performance drives better business outcomes, and vice versa.”
ASSP is the world’s oldest professional safety organization that advances its 35,000 members and the safety profession through education, advocacy, standards and a professional community.
