One of ASSP's role-specific email accounts was compromised recently and it was used to initiate almost 600,000 messages. As a result, the IP address for all community email accounts (for chapters, regions, common interest groups and practice specialties) was temporarily blacklisted.
We have initiated the delisting process with email service providers and restored most services. However, please note that Gmail does not provide a delisting process that we can initiate so it will likely takes some time for our IP address to be removed from the Gmail blacklist.
The temporary blacklisting will also impact confirmation messages sent through Event Espresso on chapter and region websites. Chapter and region Real Magnet/Higher Logic accounts were not impacted and you can continue to use them to communicate with chapter and region members.
Action Required
If you have not already done so, to prevent further issues, please log in to your role-specific email address and change the password:
- Log in to your new mailbox and edit your settings to manage your account. For details and instructions, please watch our video tutorial.
- Keep track of your accounts and share the log-in information with new officers during the transition in June. Make sure new officers change their passwords and report the changes for recordkeeping.
- If you are behind a company firewall, you may need to ask your IT department to whitelist the web address at https://ded5439.inmotionhosting.com:2096/ to access your account.
