PARK RIDGE, IL — The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and Safety For NonProfits (S4NP) have signed a memorandum of understanding to advance worker safety and health.
“We recognize the benefits of collaboration to improve occupational safety and health practices while elevating the voice of our profession,” said ASSP President Pam Walaski, CSP, FASSP. “Together we strive to strengthen advocacy efforts that reduce worker illnesses, injuries and fatalities.”
The two organizations will cross-promote volunteering opportunities while sharing content and amplifying the stories of members and member communities. The purpose is to build a larger and more engaged safety community and encourage the sharing of trusted guidance to drive positive workplace safety outcomes.
S4NP will pursue involvement in ASSP’s Leadership Conference events while ASSP will help promote S4NP’s story and mission during National Volunteer Week in April.
“Our mutual interests in increasing engagement and advancing worker safety create opportunities to work together and help charitable nonprofits in our communities be safer and better,” said Jack Geissert, founder and president of S4NP.
The new one-year alliance is among many joint agreements ASSP now has in place to improve the well-being of workers in all industries. S4NP also has several partnerships in place geared to further its organizational goals of advancing occupational and environmental health and safety practices in the charitable nonprofit sector.
ASSP is the world’s oldest professional safety organization with 35,000 members advancing worker well-being and the safety and health profession since the Society’s inception in 1911. ASSP provides member communities, serves as a trusted advisor and elevates safety through workforce development. Learn more at www.assp.org.
