Recognize Your Members and Increase Engagement

Dec 09, 2020

Recognition is an excellent way to invite members to connect with your chapter and get more involved. Whether helping them celebrate a recent achievement like a new promotion or earning their CSP or thanking volunteers for a job well done, recognition brings members into your chapter community.

Here are three ideas on ways to recognize a member:

  • Nominate a member for the chapter and regional Safety Professional of theYear award, or another Society award
  • Recognize a leadership role
  • Certificates of recognition
    • ASSP sends long-service recognition certificates for 25/40/50 years of membership directly to the member. Chapter leaders can use the roster to view other membership milestones.

When you recognize your chapter’s members for their achievements and contributions, you are honing your own skills, as well as modeling the kind of leadership that is expected in your chapter for those that will be taking up the work after you. Your chapter can order recognition items with the chapter’s logo direct from a vendor of their choice or ASSP logo gear from our online store.

Visit the Chapter Communities Marketing Kit for logos and guidance on their use.
