Registration Opens for ASSP’s Immersive Safety Education Event

Aug 20, 2018

PARK RIDGE, Illinois — When it comes to occupational safety and health education, the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) knows learning must be immersive, engaging and relevant to your job. That’s why ASSP’s annual Seminarfest is a leading source for education among workplace safety professionals everywhere. Registration opens today for Seminarfest 2019, which is set for Jan. 24-31 in Las Vegas.

“You can bring back the newest ideas and approaches in the safety field and emerge as a leader in your organization by immediately applying them,” said Aleese Eckenrode, ASSP’s manager of education and program development. “Seminarfest enables you to spend a week immersed in a wide variety of safety-related coursework all in one location, reducing costly and time-consuming travel the rest of the year.”

Seminarfest 2019 features more than 90 courses from 40 expert facilitators, covering the industry’s most relevant topics. Sessions are organized by experience level and nine industry tracks. The full-day course format allows attendees to gain in-depth knowledge on a specific topic, which is a different approach than typical conferences that feature shorter presentations. Attendees also interact face-to-face with hundreds of safety professionals in expanding their network of contacts who share their passion for finding solutions to safety and health challenges.

“Many safety professionals take significant steps in their careers after Seminarfest because they are empowered to achieve their professional goals,” Eckenrode said. “By learning today, they become leaders tomorrow.”

Seminarfest 2019 offers several new courses on more than 30 new topics, including:

•  ISO 45001 for internal auditors
•  ANSI/ASSP Z16 and safety metrics
•  Building a business case for safety
•  Human performance technology
•  Workers’ compensation

Also new this year are half-day courses on topics such as risk assessment, hazard identification and safety technology, as well as a speed networking session during which attendees will share ideas and build strategic relationships in a structured, rapid-fire format.

Seminarfest 2019 offers six certificate programs, including the Managed Fall Protection Certificate Program, to help safety professionals advance their careers and receive recognition for their expertise. Attendees can also earn up to 5.6 continuing education units (CEUs) across the full eight-day program and prepare for certification exams that lead to industry-preferred designations such as CSP, ASP, CHST and SMS.

Safety professionals can learn more about the vast educational opportunities at Seminarfest 2019 by visiting http://seminarfest.assp.org. Early-bird discounts are available through Sept. 28. Groups of five or more qualify for special rates by contacting group coordinator Nancy O’Toole at notoole@assp.org or 847.768.3466.
