Marjorie Del Toro, a member of ASSP’s Los Angeles and Orange County chapters as well as a member of ASSP’s Construction Practice Specialty, has been appointed to the California Underground Facilities Safe Excavation Board. Del Toro is the first woman to serve on the board.

The board is responsible for creating and adjusting policy solutions that are used when considering changes to job site safety procedures.

Del Toro, CEO of ehsInc., will serve a two-year term and focus on guiding policy decisions, investigating incidents and improving public and worker safety.

“I am honored to serve on the California Underground Facilities Safe Excavation Board of Directors with my fellow board members,” Del Toro says. “During my term on the board I am looking to improve the safety of workers in subsurface operations and put forward policy suggestions that can address some of the challenges at job sites around California.”
