I am an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional with over a decade of expertise in high-risk industries, particularly in oil and gas operations. My career began offshore, working on rigs where I developed a deep understanding of the unique safety challenges inherent to these environments. Since then, I’ve advanced into leadership roles, including my current position as an HSE Manager, where I oversee comprehensive safety programs, drive compliance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about protecting workers and improving operational performance. I’ve led initiatives that reduced incident rates, implemented innovative safety solutions, and built strong teams dedicated to prioritizing health and safety without compromising efficiency. My hands-on experience has given me a pragmatic, results-driven approach that ensures the implementation of real-world solutions in dynamic environments. Beyond my professional expertise, I am an active member of the safety community, committed to mentoring others and sharing best practices. I thrive in collaborative settings and enjoy exchanging ideas with like-minded professionals to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the safety field. As a leader and lifelong learner, I am dedicated to contributing to the growth and success of our industry. Serving in this role is an opportunity to bring my knowledge, passion, and commitment to a broader audience, helping advance safety practices across oil, gas, mining, and mineral resources sectors.
I am humbled to be running for Assistant Administrator for the Oil, Gas, Mining and Mineral Resources Practice Specialty. I have been a member of the ASSP for the last 7 years, serving as your practice specialty Secretary since 2023. I got involved because I love, not only safety and the value it brings, but I also love the industry we represent within the ASSP. The oil, gas, and mining industries are some of the most dangerous in the world, yet we, as a whole, have some of the lowest incident rates. Because of this, I believe that our practice specialty can, and should, be a leading voice within the ASSP. Safety is a dynamic and everchanging field and requires the same from those that practice it. Because of this, our membership strategy should too be the same, always seeking new and dynamic voice. That will be my primary focus.
