Mr. Bala is working as a TPL Specialist I (HSE) in Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait. He is a Certified Safety Professional by BCSP, USA and also Chartered Fellow of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), UK. Mr. Bala has 24 years of experience in HSE, Fire Safety in Oil & Gas Industry. Mr. Bala has received BCSP Award of Excellence in CSP-2023, American Society of Safety Professional Society’s SPY (Safety Professional of the Year) for the year 2020, ASSP Region IX SPY Award, ASSP Global Operations Safety Practice Specialty SPY Award (formally known as International Practice Specialty), ASSP Kuwait Chapter SPY Award. Mr. Bala has been extending services to BCSP as Honorary Ambassador for last 4 years. He has been extending services to ASSP in the Society Level and ASSP Kuwait Chapter for more than 15 years in various capacities that incudes Administrator, Director, Deputy Director and various other positions and also in the GSHP in the interest of professional community & latest being in J&A Bharat HSE Foundation. He is instrumental in implementing various safety initiatives in Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait. Mr. Bala presented more than 45 HSE technical papers at national and International platforms. He was awarded with “Best Speaker” award in one of the SPE HSSE Conferences. With his friends, initiated ‘Manavata by Friends (MBF)’ in Hyderabad, India during COVID-19 and contributed towards various charity activities. He is currently volunteering as AVP in ASSP Region IX & Chair of A&H, J&A BHF.
I have submitted nomination for Area Director (of Region IX, Area 1 Kuwait) of ASSP because I am passionate about safety and profession. I believe that ASSP is a vital organization for safety professionals, and I want to help the Society achieve its mission of creating a safer, stronger future
As Area Director, I will focus on the following priorities:
- Supporting professional development and networking opportunities for members. I will work with chapter leaders to develop educational programs and events that meet the needs of our members. I will also promote networking opportunities and encourage members to get involved in their chapters and the Society as a whole.
- Advocating for the safety profession at the regional and national levels. I will work with other ASSP leaders to advocate for the safety profession and promote policies and programs that improve safety for workers and the public. I will also represent the region at ASSP events and share the perspectives of our members with the Society's leadership.
- Building a strong and vibrant ASSP community in the region. I will work with chapter leaders to promote membership growth and engagement.
I believe that my skills and experience make me well qualified for the Area Director position. I have a strong record of accomplishment of success in leadership and management roles. I am also an effective communicator and collaborator. I am confident that I can work effectively with chapter leaders and members to achieve the goals of the region.
I am also motivated to serve in this position because I believe that ASSP plays an important role in promoting safety and protecting workers. I am committed to helping ASSP achieve its mission and making a positive impact on the safety profession.
