Senior Vice President Monique Parker, CSP, joined the ASSP Board of Directors on July 1, 2024, and has 20 years of safety and health experience. She will be president-elect in 2025-26 and president in 2026-27. Parker also serves as a trustee of the ASSP Foundation, the Society's charitable arm, in her dual leadership role.
Parker is senior vice president of safety, environment and health for Piedmont Lithium, headquartered in Belmont, NC. She is responsible for acquiring operational permits, developing a robust safety program and leading a sustainability strategy to support the company's efforts in the electric vehicle market.
Within ASSP, Parker is a member of the Women in Safety Excellence Common Interest Group, the Blacks in Safety Excellence Common Interest Group Advisory Committee and the Tarheel Chapter.
Parker earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Tennessee Tech University. Her career spans many industries, including textiles, chemical manufacturing, building materials and food production. Over the past decade, much of her experience has been in the lithium mining and processing space.
Parker began her career as an intern with General Motors. She has been an ASSP member since 2005 and resides in Charlotte, NC.
